Outreach Involvement

  • The world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Chapelgate students prepare shoeboxes for delivery by volunteering at the Maryland processing center. While there, students carefully inspect and prepare boxes for shipment overseas. • “First Fruits Farm is a non-profit, Christian ministry dedicated to providing fresh, nutritious food forthe hungry through volunteer service and community partnerships.” CCA students partner with First Fruits by harvesting vegetables and packaging them for distribution “to food banks, shelters, schools, churches, and other organizations throughout Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.” (www.firstfruitsfarm.org)

  • Helping Up Mission is an organization in Baltimore that provides hope to men and women experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction by meeting their physical, psychological, and spiritual needs. We partner with them to help support the organization and participants in their program; everything from taking down Christmas decorations to writing encouragement letters. While we are there to serve them, they truly serve us through their energy, singing and stories of how God is working.
