Chapelgate Traditions
Northbay Retreat (August)
Every other year, our high school starts their first four days of school together at North Bay Retreat Center! They participate in class competition games, meeting new and old friends, and learning about Jesus!
Pink Out Games (October)
Every year our Volleyball and Soccer teams come together to stand with those who have fought or are currently fighting against breast cancer!
Homecoming Week/Fall Fest (October)
Every October our school celebrates the Chapelgate community throughout our Homecoming Week festivities. Students participate in our Homecoming Pep Rally, get to wear fun fall themed outfits throughout the week, enjoy the Chapelgate Fall Fest on Saturday morning, and end the week with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday night!
Turkey Trot (Thanksgiving Day)
Every year on Thanksgiving morning, our Chapelgate community comes together to run in our fun Turkey Trot!
Spirit Week and Winter Formal (January)
Spirit week is a week full of class competition, student bonding, and school spirit! All the grades compete each day of the week to see which grade has the most school spirit. We start the week with a pep rally and our Alumni Basketball games and end the week with the Winter Dance!
Hall of Fame Basketball Games (January)
A day of basketball and inducting our incoming Athletic Hall of Fame class for that year. It is a largest attended basketball game of the year.
Boosterthon Fundraiser (March)
A new tradition at Chapelgate which helped our school raise over $28,000 this past year! It consists of a week of fundraising and celebrating with a Fun Run for our Lower School and a Color Run for our Upper School!
Europe Spring Break Trip (April)
A fun tradition at Chapelgate is our bi-annual Europe trip during Spring Break! Students visit both France and Spain, and it’s just one of the fun ways to make memories during your time at Chapelgate!
Annual Golf Tournament (May)
Every year CCA alumni, friends, and family join together to battle it out at the Annual CCA Stinger Open. The day includes a best ball round of golf, food, and fellowship. It is the athletic department's biggest fundraiser of the year. All monies raised go to upgrades in the athletic department, which include new equipment, uniforms, and facilities upgrades.
Dino Dash (May)
The Chapelgate Annual Dino Dash is fun for the whole family! With a 1k and 5k option, students and parents of all ages can join in on the fun. Enjoy a blast to the past while running through dinosaur infested forests! Not only are there dinosaurs, but a moon bounce, concessions, music & dancing, and an opportunity to create great memories with the people you care about!
Middle School Black Rock Retreat
Every year the 6th and 7th grade classes travel to the Blackrock Retreat in Quarryville, PA for a woodsy adventure. The retreat has a focus on science, but it does not stop the kids from having fun! Our students build shelters and a fire, learn how to search for salamanders, newts, and play glow in the dark dodge ball or Alpha Wolf. As a grand finale to their last year in middle school, our 8th graders travel back to Blackrock for a totally different experience. Zip lines, low ropes, giant swings, and high ropes challenge the students. During both 6th/7th and 8th grade retreats, campers take time to worship and learn about God’s word. Blackrock gives our Middle Schoolers amazing memories to look back on as they move onto high school.
Costa Rica Mission Trip (June)
Every year God gives Chapelgate students the opportunity to join him in his work in Los Guido, a slum of San Jose, Costa Rica. We partner with Christian Light Foundation in Costa Rica. Previous service activities have included vacation bible school, work projects including making and delivering beds and painting buildings. Students get the opportunity to build relationships with local children as well as their peers. It is a wonderful time to serve God and others cross-culturally.
