In addition to tutoring math, Mrs. Linda Whitelaw will assist students who have the following challenges or need assistance in other subjects:
- organization skills
- study skills
- test taking strategies
The two in-school programs are offered during all periods (zero through seven) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only. A student can enroll for tutoring during their study hall, zero period, or another period (if approved by the Guidance office). Students without a study hall or not available for period zero should contact the Guidance Office for other options.
The two in-school programs are designed for the student who will be enrolled at least once a week monthly, quarterly, by semester, or for the entire school year. You may complete and submit the Tutor Intent Form any time. Interested parents should apply as soon as possible. Priority for awarding slots will be based upon completion of a Registration form and payment. There is no automatic re-enrollment. By submitting this Interest form or the final Registration form you are granting Mrs. Whitelaw permission to access your child’s academic records and class schedule.
Cost is $45/session and will depend on how many sessions occur in that month/quarter/semester. Actual cost for the month, quarter, semester, and year will be calculated based on an exact number of sessions in that period. Those students that need a proctor either for a Mid-term or Final Exam will be charged $90. (Each exam covers two sessions.) Payment for services must be made in advance to Mrs. Whitelaw. Please remember, there will be a $40 returned check fee. There is also a 4% fee if the tutoring is paid for by credit card.
Parents interested in either or both of the two in-school programs need to fill out the form below and return it to the school office, attention Linda Whitelaw. You then will be contacted via email as to whether the space you requested is open (or not). If space is open for your child, then you will be sent the Registration form which you must complete and return along with your payment to Mrs. Whitelaw. All tutoring sessions must be prepaid to guarantee the space. Once Mrs. Whitelaw has received payment and a completed Registration form, and space is still available, then your child will be enrolled and you will be notified via email. If by chance someone has paid for that space ahead of you then you will be refunded. Please note there is limited availability, and students will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Attendance and scheduling
Attendance policies: Students are responsible for attending each tutoring session. Absences cannot be made up unless authorized by Mrs. Whitelaw. Abbreviated periods, such as assembly schedule, delayed openings, half days, etc. will still count as a full session.
If a student has missed a tutoring session because the school is closed for the day they will be able to make it up on the very next school day that Mrs. Whitelaw is available (Tuesday through Thursday). This could mean that there could be more than two students being tutored during that period.
