At Chapelgate, sports are one of the many vehicles we utilize to teach the students about life in the light of God's word. We ask students to commit to each other and their team. We ask them to continue to develop their Christian character. And, with that Christian commitment, we then build competitive teams.

Chapelgate's athletic programs are designed to be a part of the "whole" educational experience at the school. Athletes incorporate their Christian faith with academic and sports learning, personal growth and physical development. We ask our athletes to balance the value of academics and athletics.

Our varsity teams participate in two separate athletic leagues. The girls compete in the IAAM (Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland). We have teams in the A and B conferences. The boys compete in the MIAA (Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association). We have teams in the B and C conferences. Both boys and girls teams have won championships in various sports with some students playing at the D1, D2, and D3 college level.

At Chapelgate, junior varsity teams are designed to be the building steps for the varsity program. At this level, all students are given playing opportunities during the sporting season. At the varsity level, the best players play in an effort to field our most competitive sports teams. Although we see each individual as being important, sometimes, due to number of interested participants and teams, we hold try-outs.

Chapelgate has been blessed with a Godly, experienced, and knowledgeable coaching staff. If your child is interested in sports, we hope to have the opportunity to be a part of their "whole" education at Chapelgate!
