    Welcome to Chapelgate Christian Academy

    Welcome to CCA!

Welcome to Chapelgate Christian Academy's front door on the web. We are honored you took the time to further investigate who we are and what we provide in the area of Christian education. At this site, you will learn a little about our history, our philosophy, and about some of the programs that we offer.

The story of Chapelgate Christian Academy is one of God's providence and faithfulness. Dating back to the 1950's, members of Chapelgate Presbyterian Church (PCA) discussed and prayed about the possibility of beginning a Christian school. Their prayers were answered forty years later when God providentially provided Chapelgate with 63 acres of prime real estate located off Interstate 70. As the new building was being planned, the leadership of the church unanimously voted to begin a school. Their commitment to this ministry was demonstrated by constructing a building that more resembles a school than a church.

Chapelgate Presbyterian Church held their first church service in the new building on Easter Sunday, 1991 and that fall 78 students were registered to attend CCA in grades six through nine. The decision to open a middle/high school was made after much prayer and research by the day school committee. It was determined that there were many Christian elementary and middle schools, but few high schools in Central Maryland. Today, we receive many students from local Christian schools ending with fifth or eighth grade. These students represent eight counties and Baltimore City.

Additionally, God's faithfulness has been demonstrated through the growing student population and through the over all growth of programs offered. CCA added the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades in years two, three, and four. The population doubled to 150 students in the second year and continued to grow until the numbers reached over 450 students. Today, CCA fills and utilizes a spacious building totaling 92,000 square feet in addition to four modular classrooms.

Our mission states that we assist parents in the education of their children about life in the light of God's Word. CCA partners with Christian parents to prepare students to be stewards of the gifts God has granted them. Our vision statement reads: CCA has been established to prepare students to glorify God as life-long learners through creative, critical, and biblical thinking, influencing culture, and serving others.

Academically, our mission is to prepare students to be successful in college. CCA is a college preparatory institution that challenges the average and above average student. In addition to offering standard high school courses, CCA offers up to nine different Advanced Placement Courses. The more academically motivated graduates have entered college as sophomores because they have earned over thirty credits by taking AP classes. Over 95% of CCA's graduates attend college after graduation.

You can learn more about CCA by reading the information posted on this site or by contacting the school at 410-442-5888. You will most likely be greeted by a student assistant who will connect you to our admissions office. Ask our Director of Admissions to send you a packet of information that will further answer your questions.

Thanks again for taking time to visit our web site. We trust that the Lord will lead you in knowing His will. We pray that God will lead His choice of students and teachers to join our community at CCA. Perhaps you are one of those people for whom we are praying.

    Serving the Master Teacher,
