History
For many years before the opening of Chapelgate Christian Academy, members of Chapelgate Presbyterian Church prayed for a Christian school ministry in the church. The school opened in 1991 on the current site of 63 acres. Seventy five students in grades 6-9 pioneered our inaugural year under the leadership of Dr. James DiVirgilio. The following year, 150 students in grades 6-10 were enrolled in the academy and a new headmaster, Mr. Rob Van Ness, joined us. Grades 11 and 12 were added in the two subsequent years with a continued increase in enrollment. On June 5, 1995, we held the first commencement exercises. All sixteen graduates went on to enroll in colleges and universities. Now in our fourteenth year, CCA ministers to over 450 students in grades 6-12 including sixty-four seniors.
